Saint-Rémy-de-Provence
In the heart of the village of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, this late 18th-century house offers guests a rare experience. Just renovated and fully air-conditioned, the décor is refined and elegant, with rare pieces by architects, designers and painters, and noble materials. The carefully considered lighting awakens this sleeping beauty, whose stones are steeped in history.
The sublime Maltese cross entrance door opens onto the living room and dining room on the ground floor. These first rooms plunge you into a refined and colourful atmosphere, where time blends together and doesn’t count. The grand staircase leads up the three floors to the three terraces, also accessible by an elevator.
The kitchen, with its contemporary purity, stretches along the stone walls and ancient vaulted ceiling. Perfectly equipped, it opens onto the marvellous eighteenth-century façade of the Musée Estrine, a famous place for Provencal painting.
The first and second floors each offer two differently styled bedrooms, featuring furniture and objects by leaders in architecture and design. Whether separate or not, the tiled or mosaic bathrooms are discoveries in themselves.
One more floor and you’re over the rooftops. The dining terrace conceals a fully-equipped outdoor kitchen, another a heated pool, and the last a solarium facing the Musée Estrine and its bar. A unique place in the village!
Finally, at the top of the staircase, you can enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree view of the Alpilles to the south, the Luberon to the east, Mont Ventoux to the north and the Montagnette to the west. It’s a marvellous setting for admiring the sunset and enjoying the cool evening air around the brazier in the starlit night (dinners on the roof terrace can seat up to 14 people, or 40 in the cocktail-dinner version).
